What does fiscal period mean?

Fiscal period is another name for Fiscal Year. The 12-month accounting period used by governments and businesses in India, running from April 1 to March 31.

The two names mean the same thing. You will see "fiscal period" in some ledgers, reports and contracts and "Fiscal Year" in others. The full entry covers how it works, with examples.
