What does Form 16A mean?

Form 16A is another name for TDS Certificate (Form 16/16A). A TDS certificate is a document issued by the deductor to the deductee certifying the amount of TDS deducted and deposited, issued as Form 16 for salary and Form 16A for non-salary payments.

The two names mean the same thing. You will see "Form 16A" in some ledgers, reports and contracts and "Form 16/16A" in others. The full entry covers how it works, with examples.
